They say childhood is the best phase in life but there are many children worldwide who suffer from abhorrent acts of violence, exploitation and abuse – an abyss of darkness that no child should ever be subjected to.

There are hundreds of children who continue suffering as we speak and its heart rendering to hear their stories of horror.

According to the United Nations Children’s Emergency Fund (Unicef), more than 85 million such children are subjected to hazardous physical labour, commercial sex exploitation, fighting as child soldiers and child trafficking.

A team of children, who were luckily rescued from the clutches of unscrupulous agents in the business of human trafficking, will be in Dubai today to tell their sad tale.

They are urging the more fortunate in society to help the millions of children who are still stuck in the vicious cycle of selling and buying human life.

These children, represent Circus Kathmandu, a charity organisation that works to free children and young people in Nepal who have been trafficked, exploited, enslaved or stigmatized.

They will be performing at the Dubai British School. The event marks their international premiere.

The circus troop comprises vulnerable children who were rescued from modern-day slavery inside Indian circuses and they are here to enthrall the audience with their dare- devil tricks and will perform to tell their story. Watch videos here .

The group is supported by the UK registered charity, Freedom Matters, an entity that works to help eradicate human trafficking especially in Nepali children.

The circus performance will include aerial trapeze, hoops, acrobatics, fire performance, unicycling and Nepali dance. Tickets are priced and all proceeds will be given to the charity.

Alternatively, you can make a difference by contributing to the organisation by visiting their website or their Facebook page.
