Vroom with a view: Where to watch the flashiest 500 supercars at today's Dubai Grand Parade

Dubai residents will today be treated to stunning views some of the world’s most exclusive, privately-owned supercars, which together may be worth more than a cool half-a-billion dirhams.

The cars that will participate in the parade include the Champion Infiniti Red Bull Racing F1 Car, the fleet of Dubai Police supercars (including the latest entrants), the ZTR Roadster, the McLaren MP4-12C, and many more awe-inspiring supercars and jaw-dropping luxury bikes.

From exotic to vintage, concept to rally, and modified to bespoke – you name it, and the supercar of your dreams will be making its way around in Dubai 47km parade track on Friday, starting 3pm on November 8, 2013.

And the superlatives just don’t end – the vehicles are indeed priceless, with Dh500 million worth of super and luxury cars and bikes all at once on Dubai roads. They are indeed the flashiest and the fastest (you bet) – the world’s fastest production car, the Bugatti Veyron, will be a star attraction.

The fleet of cars will also sport the rarest of them all – the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 from Gumball Rally Fame.

The parade will also feature the richest car – a Range Rover fully wrapped in UAE currency coins!

Of course, it’s Dubai we’re talking about, so there will be the characteristic ‘bling-est’ car – a Hummer H2 covered with exquisite Swarovski crystals!

Other showstoppers in the parade will be the Champion Infiniti Red Bull Racing F1 car – grandest if you will. The longest car – Cadillac Series 62 stretching 5.48m – will be turning heads too. Then there will be the oldest car on road - the most respectable 1912 Saxon (yes, it still works).

In all, this will be the biggest parade of supercars, with more than 350 top marques and models all showcasing their mettle at once.

But if the fastest, rarest, flashiest, and longest parade of world’s supercars gets you excited – remember that you will be competing against 2 million other Dubai residents, and no doubt millions of supercar fans from other emirates and, indeed, the neighbouring Gulf countries for a peek.

To avoid disappointment – and to avoid getting caught in a jam – here’s what you might want to know.

The route is an incredible 47 km through the iconic streets and marvelous landmarks of Dubai. Be early enough to reserve the best seat and to be the first to see this eclectic conglomeration of the most unbelievable and extravagant vehicles make its way through Dubai.

You may want to join the fleet of supercars in your own, but remember that those supercars will obviously get priority on the road, and you may end up watching the rear of another ‘regular’ car that is ahead of you.

Instead, head down to the Parade Spectator Zone @ Downtown Dubai and Madinat Jumeirah for the best viewing spots and some pre-parade entertainment, fun and giveaways. Make sure you arrive at least an hour early (at 2:30pm) to avoid the traffic, enjoy the entertainment and get a great viewing spot for the parade.

There will be motoring fun for the whole family to enjoy. There’s going to be a DJ, street performers including break dancers, Capoeira dancers, African drummers, and a cartoonist. It’s being pegged as the ultimate vehicular entertainment extravaganza. Oh, and don’t forget your cameras.
