Fourth suspect of the 'Pink Pather' gang responsible for the Dh14.7 million robbery in Wafi Mall has been arrested.
Dubai Police and Sheikh Saif bin Zayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, announced the arrest on Thursday, reports Al Bayan.
After eight years the Dubai Police team has managed to nab the fouth suspect due to their dedication and continuous follow-up.
In April 2007, an armed gang smashed through the glass doors of the Wafi with two cars.
The gang fled after stealing a jewellery store.
The cars were burnt to destroy evidence. But within two weeks, Dubai Police arrested two Serbian men affiliated with the gang, and a third, who was extradited to the UAE.
Last year, another member of the gang was arrested in Spain.
In total, about 50 members of the gang were arrested across Europe following the robbery.
Dubai Police is expected to hold a press conference on Sunday to announce the details of the arrest of the accused.
