Want to go camping? Get a permit from Dubai Municipality

With the season for camping just around the corner, the Dubai Municipality has announced that it will issue permits for setting up winter camps in the desert.

The civic body has urged residents to contact the permit issuing office at Al Warqa 5 from October 23 to apply for the permits.

They will have to submit a copy of family book, passport and vehicle ownership card for the same.

The area of land authorised for the establishment of a camp should not exceed 400 square meter.

A fee of 22 Fils per square meter per week. An refundable amount of Dh2,000 should be paid as insurance fee.   

Khalid Mohammed Salih, director of building department, made the official announcement.

The validity of the permit will be six months without exceeding the end of April each year.

During the permitted time period, owners must adhere to the requirements of environment, health, planning and construction set forth in the municipal legislation.

Moreover, the land should be evacuated at the expiration of the permit and restored to how was it before.
