White Mondays: Dining in style at Dubai Mall

Published

If you thought that the elegant, white table dining experience was exclusive to the chic stand-alone  restaurants, you were wrong. Shopping malls too have something to offer.

The shopping mall dining options are in the spotlights these couple weeks, as Dubai is in the ban of the three week long Dubai Food Festival, when culinary events are held throughout the emirate.

While restaurants all over the emirate are taking out their very best to impress its customers these three weeks, Dubai Mall has not let the opportunity pass by without reminding the shopping crowd that culinary expertise is present within its very premises.

On the occasion, visitors are invited to experience the White Mondays, when restaurants at the Dubai Fountain Waterfront turn their lifestyle-dining set up in a temporary white-sheet terrace. During these weeks the Dubai Mall Waterfront represents elegance.

Off course it is not only the white sheets that make for a successful dining night out. Special set menus and delectable culinary creations are presented, convincing the customer of the culinary professionalism of the restaurants.

We picked Scoozy, the mixed Italian-Japanese diner located there were you would like to watch the dancing fountains to experience a White Monday on first account. And as the menu itself is enticing, the chefs went an extra mile to have us try and test the various aspects that the dual kitchen has to offer.

Starting Italian, we were treated with the characteristic Caprese salad plate and a mix-salad bowl. Filled up quite enough to start the main course, we were surprised with a pick-and choose shushi plate, packed in a replica ship. The wide-ranging sorts of shushi kept us intrigued for a while. The choice was then up to us to pick a dish a-la-card, and just when we were debating whether we would opt for a final desert, a delicious plate of hot brownie, cake and ice cream was presented.

Nasser Rafi, CEO of Emaar Malls Group, said: “As a Strategic Partner of the Dubai Festivals & Retail Establishment, we are bringing a new dimension to lifestyle dining with an array of celebratory activities during Dubai Food Festival. The ‘Mondays in White’ campaign will be a magical experience for our visitors by bringing together all the elements of a great evening – great food, fantastic entertainment and a fascinating ambience.”

All through Dubai Food Festival, participating restaurants will showcase in-store live presentations by expert chefs, gourmet themed installations and children’s cooking workshops. Musicians are twirling between the dining crowds to add that bit of ambiance. The fountain show does the rest.

As the Food Festival lasts until March 15, there is only one more White Monday to come, being on March 10th, starting at 7 PM and open till midnight.

During Dubai Food Festival, visitors who spend AED 300 on shopping or dining at the mall’s outlets also have the opportunity to win a year-long dining experience at Emaar Hospitality Group restaurants worth AED 100,000, which can be redeemed at The Address Hotels + Resorts, Vida Hotels and Resorts and At.mosphere, Burj Khalifa.
