Sharjah Light Festival has been attracting visitors from within the country and the region to witness the innovative shows that transform the various landmark buildings and locations in the emirate into works of art.

The Jubail New Market features one of the 10 new shows of Sharjah Light Festival 2016, which is currently celebrating its sixth successful year.

It is hosting the show, ‘Deep Down Under’, a video mapping projection by Romain Lamy. The busy market building gets transformed into an underground treasure trove with under water marvels.

Jubail New Market is strategically located in the centre of Sharjah city close to the Central Souq, a popular tourist destination.

Cultural Palace at Cultural Square adds to the splendour of the location with a video mapping projection across the majestic building. Titled ‘Highlight of Poetry’, the show interprets and visualises the poetry of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, whose wisdom has shaped the emirate.

The iconic Supreme Council for Family Affairs building hosts the show, ‘A Crossroad of the World’, offering a perfect backdrop for a journey through wild tropical forests to urban jungles, bringing to life flowers and people in a futuristic city.

The festival, which is the only one-of-its-kind in the region, is being held from February 4 to 13 under the theme ‘Travel Across Time’. Organised by Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, Sharjah Light Festival is hosting 23 amazing shows this year from 6pm to 11 pm on weekdays and until midnight on weekends.
