Wife seeks divorce from “abandoning” husband

An Emirati woman in Ras Al Khaimah filed a divorce against her husband, saying he had abandoned her on the first day of their marriage nearly two years ago.

The woman told court in the northern emirate that her husband married her and then went straight to his first wife on the wedding night without touching her, adding that she is still virgin although she has been married for two years.

“She told court that her husband has not provided her with a house yet and that she is still residing at her parent’s house,” Emirat Alyoum daily said, adding that the court set April 30 for issuing a sentence.
