Win free iPhone 6 this Gitex from government

It is not just during the Gitex Shopper that you stand to win freebies and bundle offers. Gitex Technology Week, which is scheduled to start from October 12, is all set to not only dazzle visitors with the latest innovations and developments in the digital world, but also carry forward the trend from the Gitex Shopper, where someone gets to win something every day.

On offer this time around are free iPhones, tablets, holiday packages and even free entry passes to the Gitex Technology Week.

One of the major talking point this year is the progress made in the Smart Government  and Smart City initiatives of the Dubai government and the departments are leaving no stone unturned in showcasing their progress.

Dubai Water and Electricity Authority (Dewa), for example, which has been leading in terms of development and deployment of mobile applications to enable its customers to use its services online and through the mobile platform has initiated a series of rewards and gifts.

Customers of Dewa, who use the smart app during the Technology Week will be entered into prize draws every day and stand a chance to win smartphones daily.

There will also be a grand prize draw in February 2015, eligible for those customers who continuously use the mobile means to pay bills for consecutive months - between August 1, 2014, and January 31, 2015.

Several other government departments such as the Dubai Police and the Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai are also competing to take on the number one position in terms of leading the smart government adaptation and also have various gifts and raffles to give away during the five day technology Week, one of which includes an iPhone 6.

It is not just the Dubai government departments that is driving the smart government initiatives this year. According to the Dubai World Trade Centre, all major government departments from across all emirates, including Abu Dhabi, with 25 representations will be present, showcasing their latest initiatives.

Meanwhile, Huawei is offering one complimentary one-day pass code (valued at Dh85) to the show for the first 200 registrants on its website.

By visiting the Huawei booth stand you also get a chance to win special gifts like Huawei Ascend P7.

There are many other companies who would be offering holiday packages and various other gifts when you either visit the stand and drop your business cards or sometimes fill out a survey form. So, if you plan to visit the Gitex Technology Week this year do not forget to bring your business cards along. The Gitex Technology Week 2014 will be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 12 to 16.
