Wives using spying techniques to catch cheating hubbies

Recording devices have topped the list of spying tools that wives use to collect evidence on their cheating hubbies, said an expert, warning women that such acts will only cause more complications and will definitely end their marriages.

Moza Al Ameri, Deputy Director of Family Development Department at Ministry of Social Affairs told Emirates 24|7 that many women who start suspecting their husbands of having an affair, plant recording devices in their husbands cars, adding that such behavior is wrong and it is not advisable at all.

“Many women do such things to collect evidence, hoping this will prevent their husbands from denying it. “However, it’s very rare that husbands admit to cheating on their wives. Almost all of them say that they didn’t do it and that it’s their friends who borrowed their car - among many other excuses.”

Al Ameri stressed that it’s better if they stop such practices.

“If they suspect their husbands are having affairs, they must talk to them and inquire about that. They should also try to find out what was the reason for such behaviour. Recordings will only destroy everything.”|

Fatima (name changed), a 24-year-old mother of two boys in Dubai said that she suspected her 36-year-old husband was cheating on her.

So, she bought a recording device and kept it in his car. “The device I bought was smart. It would record only when someone talks. Thus, it would never run out of battery. When my husband returned home, I would go every night and take the recording device to hear what he was saying to his mistress.

“It was a terrible period in my life as I discovered that he was involved with more than five women, at the same time.

“I was so obsessed and it was driving me crazy. Eventually, we got divorced.”

Fatima added that if she can go back in time, she would do things differently.

“Many of my friends told me after I got divorced that they wanted to do such thing and they asked me from where to buy that recorder.

“However, I never advised them to do so.”

Maryam (name changed), a 33-year-old woman said that she planted a recording device in her husband’s car when she suspected he was having affair.

“I got divorced. Not because he was having affair, but because I couldn’t forget the terrible things he said about me to his girlfriend.

“He disrespected me in front of her. We have four children, and we had a happy life together. He said terrible thing about me to his girlfriend in order to have a good excuse for the ugly things he used to do behind my back, and to get his girlfriend’s sympathy.

“When I confronted him, he admitted and he begged me to forgive him. I did that for a few months and tried to save my marriage for the sake of my children, but I simply couldn’t forgive him.

“Whenever I looked at his face, I remembered his voice and the terrible recordings I heard. It was too difficult for me to continue with him. I don’t advise women to record anything unless they don’t to get divorced. Otherwise, it better to avoid it.”
