Woman dies in Sheikh Zayed Road accident

A woman of Asian nationality was killed and seven others were injured in a traffic accident on Sheikh Zayed Road on Wednesday.

Salah Bu Farousha Al Falasi, Head of Traffic Prosecution at Dubai Public Prosecution, said the initial inspection of the accident site and witness accounts revealed that the incident occurred after a Pakistani driver lost control of his car due to the burst of the tyre, Al Ittihad said.

The tyre burst resulted in vehicle moving to the right and colliding with the vehicle coming from the opposite direction.

“The collision led to the death of the woman later in hospital because of the serious injury, while the driver escaped.”

He pointed out that “the Dubai Public Prosecution asked the police station in Bur Dubai to prepare a report of the accident and ordered arrest of the driver.
