An appeals court in Ras Al Khaimah has ordered the payment of Dh150,000 to an Asian worker who lost his finger during carpentry work.

The court upheld a previous verdict ordering the employing firm to pay damages to the worker after it violated the job contract and assigned him to carpentry work instead of construction, according to Emarat Alyoum daily.

“The company tried to clear itself from any responsibility but it is fully responsible for this accident because it violated the worker’s job contract,” his lawyer told court.
