Worker molested 11-year-old girl

A 33-year-old worker, RMK, allegedly molested an 11-year -old schoolgirl in the stair well of her building, the Dubai Criminal Court heard.

The victim’s mother, JA, 41, doctor, testified that at 2.30 pm she got a call from her daughter telling her that she had got down from the school bus and was heading to the building where they lived.

“I asked her not to use the lift as it often did not work and instead asked to use the stair well. Ten minutes later she called me and told me that someone came up behind her and hugged and kissed her. I called the watchman to search for the accused but he could not find anyone in the building.

“The next day while I was teaching my daughter, I found a paper with a telephone number written on it, with a request to call the number without telling anyone. So I lodged a complaint with the police,” she testified.

The accused confessed to hugging and kissing the girl.

The court adjourned the case for verdict until March 25.
