Tourism Australia has announced a competition called ‘Best Jobs In The World,’ where six lucky winners will get a six-month job contract and a package worth A$100,000, including living costs.

“It makes sense that one of the best countries in the world would be home to some of the ‘Best Jobs in the World’. Right now, there are six positions available, all around Australia,” says the Tourism Australia ad.

And the positions are as exotic as they come. The tourism board is looking to fill the following vacant positions: Outback Adventurer, Taste Master, Chief Funster, Park Ranger, Wildlife Caretaker and Lifestyle Photographer.

The job description of a Chief Funster reads:

•Be a Sydney VIP

An Outback Adventurer will need to:

•Journey through the Outback

•Meet the locals

•Discover exciting adventures

The successful Park ranger will have the following job responsibilities:

•Check the water temperature

•Patrol the beaches

•Leave only footprints

A Taste Master will have to discharge these duties:

•Eat your way around the state

•Forage out the finest produce

•Uncover the best bars and restaurants

The Wildlife Caretaker will be accountable for the following:

•Wake up the kangaroos

•Swim with dolphins and sea lions

•Explore Kangaroo Island

A Lifestyle Photographer’s daily duties will include:

•Experience hidden secrets and share new trends

•Create city and country photo shoots

•Encounter local identities, designers and artists

Applications opened this week, and for those interested in one of these vacations…oops, jobs, this is where to apply.

The event’s official Facebook page had more than 177,000 likes by late Wednesday.

While the hiring campaign targets young travellers (aged between 18 and 30), it is open to applicants of all ages, and from anywhere in the world. The application deadline is April 10, 2013, and the successful candidates will be announced in mid-June. All six jobs start August 1, 2013.

Ben Southall, the earlier winner of the 2009 competition for the Best Job in the World, that of being an Island Caretaker on the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, urges candidates to apply for the jobs in video on Australia.com.

Interested – act fast, as CVs seem to flooding in, with officials announcing on Tuesday that they had already received more than 30,000 applications.
