Wrong stunt on Dubai highway kills quad biker

Riding up the road in opposite direction when he was hit by 4-wheel drive; 2 more injured in separate quad bike incidents

It was a nightmare weekend for quad bikers in Dubai, with the Dubai Police reporting at least three quad bike accidents, one of them fatal.

A quad biker of British nationality was killed in a mishap on the Dubai-Hatta road on Saturday.

According to Dubai Traffic Police, the Briton was riding up the wrong way when he was hit by a four-wheel drive vehicle.

The Briton is said to have died on the spot.

The driver of the car is of Egyptian nationality, aged 30.

The Briton was also in his thirties.

The Briton is also believed to have crossed the highway through a gap in the road dividers to get on to the wrong side of the road.

In the other two quad bike incidents, which took place in the near the Al Warqaa area, two riders were injured, one of them seriously.

The Dubai Police reminded quad bikers that it is illegal to ride these bikes on the road.
