A young man studying in the UAE fell unconscious while filling his car at a petrol station in Dubai due to drug overdose.

Thinking that the young man has fallen asleep, the staff at the petrol station tried to wake him up but to no avail.

The staff then called Dubai Police, informing it that they’re not able to wake up a driver who fell asleep while filling the tank.

Dubai Police team rushed to the petrol station and found the driver unconscious in the car, according to a report in Emarat Al Youm.

The police moved the car away from the filling machine.

“We tried to wake him up but he was unconscious from drug effect and didn’t respond to our attempts,” a police officer was quoted as saying in the Arabic daily.

Police officers searched the car where they found the drugs, hallucinogenic capsules, and three knives.

When the young man regained conscious, police asked his name and questioned him about the drug and his condition. But he tried to cheat by impersonating his brother’s name, taking advantage of similarities between them. He showed his brother’s photo fixed on the ID to the police officers during the investigation.

During the interrogation, police found that the young man consumed drug and fell unconscious due to overdose.

The Dubai Public Prosecution referred his case to the Criminal Court for consuming and possessing 48 capsules of drugs.

The young man, a GCC national, admitted to the prosecution that is a drug addict.
