Your Child in Gold: How much did you win?

Dubai Municipality has announced that the final weigh-in for the ‘Your Child in Gold’ campaign has been successfully completed, and winners of the weight-loss contest will be announced soon.

According to the stats provided by the civic officials, out of 26,000 online registrations, 18,000 from 112 nationalities qualified for the weight-loss contest.

Fahima Al Amiri, head of public relations section at Dubai Municipality, said that the winners will be informed through SMS next week about how much they won. “They will be advised on how to complete the procedures.”

A text message will soon follow with the “details of closing ceremony and prize distribution” event.

“We got an incredible response, and through the campaign we realised that the main reason of obesity in children is the lack of proper care and guidance from parents. Many adults are poor role models themselves,” said Dr Najiba Al Shezawi, medical in-charge of the initiative.

This campaign has helped educate “hundreds of parents and children about the necessity of leading healthy life”.

“We thank all contestants for working towards making Dubai a city of happiness, health and prosperity,” said Ismail Al Banna, Director Corporate Marketing and Relations Department at Dubai Municipality.

“We have great hope that this unique initiative will create a new record for Dubai, and change the attitude of people.”
