Seven Indian schools have moved up in their rankings in Knowledge and Human Development Authority’s (KHDA) latest inspection report.

Ratings of the two Pakistani schools remain unchanged, showing ‘less positive’ results.

Of the two schools providing Pakistani curriculum, both showed no change in their ranking. Pakistan Educational Academy retained its ‘Acceptable’ ranking from 2012, while Shaikh Rashid Al Maktoum Pakistani School has remained ‘Weak’ since 2011.

Of the 29 Indian curriculum schools inspected in Dubai, two have been rated ‘Outstanding’, three ‘Very good’, 11 ‘Good’, 11 ‘Acceptable’ and two were found to be ‘Weak’.

Three schools, which opened in the last two years, were not inspected this year.

Three Indian schools moved up from ‘Good’ to ‘Very Good’ rating.

These are Delhi Private School, GEMS Our Own English High School, and the Millennium School.

Four schools moved from ‘Acceptable’ to ‘Good’ rating.

These are GEMS Our Own Indian School, The Kindergarten Starters, Ambassador School LLC, and Ambassador Kindergarten LLC.

GEMS Modern Academy and The Indian High School continue to rank ‘Outstanding’.

Rajagiri International School Dubai, The Indian High School-Branch, Our Own High School, and JSS International School LLC retained their ‘Good’ ranking.

Crescent English School and Gulf Model School retain their ‘weak’ ranking.

Dubai School Inspection Bureau (DSIB) showed that no school dropped in its ranking.

This year, all private schools in Dubai were inspected using the new UAE School Inspection Framework, which evaluates the quality of educational provision on six levels - outstanding, very good, good, acceptable, weak and very weak.

The results show that 67 per cent of students (52,144) now attend schools that provide a good or better quality of education.

This represents a significant improvement of 22 percentage points since the first round of inspections by DSIB in 2009-2010.

According to the report, 4,375 students attend ‘Weak’ schools, while 9,478 students attend ‘Outstanding’ schools.

“Indian curriculum schools have witnessed significant improvements and school inspectors have observed gains in most aspects of school life, including teaching, learning skills, assessment, parental engagement, governance and leadership,” said Fatma Belrehif, Executive Director of the DSIB.
