Your Dubai taxi may have 3 CCTV cameras: Click to know where

In a bid to monitor the performance of its drivers, a few taxis in Dubai have been fitted with CCTV cameras.

This is part of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)’s pilot project, introduced six months ago.

According to Abdullah Yousuf Al Ali, CEO, Public Transport Agency, RTA, “few cabs” have been fitted with these cameras.

“Each taxi is fitted with three cameras. One camera in front, to monitor the driver, and two positioned outside - in front, and in the rear.”

The official added that feedback will be collected over the trial period.

The decision to introduce CCTV cameras in all cabs has not been finalised.
