Emirati poet killed by ex-wife over child

A well-known Emirati poet and actor was killed when his ex-wife and her current husband ran him over just after he saw his three-year-old daughter at a government social centre in the eastern oasis town of Al Ain.

Ahmed Hussein Mousa Salari has just finished meeting his daughter and left the social centre when his ex-wife, an actress from another Gulf country, knocked him over with her car on the road between Al Ain Zoo and the traffic department.

As he tried to move, he was run over again by the actress’s current husband, resulting in his death on the site, the Arabic language daily Al Khaleej said.

It said Salari was buried in Al Ain on Saturday while the killers were arrested by the police, who rushed to the accident site.
