An Emirati man suffered from kidney failure after undergoing illegal fat removal operation at an apartment in Ajman by an Asian man practising medicine without a licence.
The Emirati told court he met the Asian at a shopping mall and that he persuaded him to go to his apartment in the Northern Emirate for that operation.
He said the Asian gave him injections and asked him to return the next week, adding that he was given more injections for the slimming operation.
Newspapers quoted him as saying he paid Dh10,000 for the injections and other drugs and that he started to suffer from severe pain in the abdomen.
Examination at Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Hospital in Ajman showed that he was suffering from kidney failure because of the injections.
