An Emirati father and son were ambushed by a group of burglars at their home in Houston, USA, killing the latter in the ensuing struggle.

Newspapers here reported citing Khou.com that the duo returned home at 10:15 pm from Taraweeh prayers, when they were held at gunpoint by the thieves and taken inside.

Saif bin Musallam Al Mazroui, the father, who is being treated for cancer in Houston for the past five years, managed to run out, but the thieves shot at the son when he tried to escape.

Salem Saif Al Mazroui, 25, was shot several times by the suspects, who fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money and mobile phone. The car was found the following day even as the attackers are at large.

Salem was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
