Finland residents in the UAE can cast vote in the upcoming elections through Dubai and Abu Dhabi offices.

Finland Embassy in Abu Dhabi has posted a note on its website alerting its countrymen in the UAE that advance voting for the parliamentary elections of spring 2015 is possible in Abu Dhabi from April 8 to 10 and in Dubai from April 9 to 10.

The parliamentary elections take place in Finland on Sunday, April 19.

The Finland Government decided last month on establishing general advance polling stations abroad for the parliamentary elections in April.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is responsible for organising advance voting abroad.

Finnish diplomatic missions and their offices serve as general advance polling stations. The number of polling stations is 233 in a total of 89 countries.

Every Finnish citizen who has reached the age of 18 years not later than on Election Day is entitled to vote in the 2015 parliamentary elections regardless of the place of residence.

A passport or other official identity card must be presented at the polling station. It is also good to take the notice of your right to vote with you, but it is also possible to vote without it.

A person entitled to vote who lives abroad will be notified by post if the register office of his or her last place of residence in Finland has the correct address.
