Fire breaks out in Safeer Mall Ajman; fire-fighters on the scene

Update: Safeer Mall has reopened its premises after a fire broke out at the shopping centre in Ajman earlier on Thursday.
 
However, eye witnesses claim Safeer Hypermarket remains closed to the public, after a fire broke out in its electronic products warehouse due to a short circuit.
 
The matter is under investigation by Ajman Civil Defence.

A fire broke out on the premises of Safeer Mall Ajman earlier this morning.

According to eyewitnesses, Ajman Civil Defence, along with Ajman Police, are on the scene to control a 'small blaze' which broke out in the storage facilities of Safeer Hypermarket.

Ajman Civil Defence confirmed the incident, saying, "The fire broke out in a store inside Safeer Mall this morning. No further details can be given at this time."

JM, a mall employee, spoke to Emirates 24|7 saying, "The fire broke out around 8.30am, while the mall was still closed. When we arrived for work 30 minutes later, we were informed by the security that the mall was closed due to a fire that broke in the storage warehouse of Safeer Hypermarket.

"The mall is still closed but we have been told we should be able to enter the premises later this afternoon."

JM stated that no smoke or exterior damage was visible on the mall facade.

Calls to Safeer Mall and corporate office of Al Safeer Group, were unanswered.
