GCC nationals on board missing EgyptAir

EgyptAir has released a list of the nationalities of the passengers who were on board the missing MS804 flight that went missing earlier on Thursday, while en route to Cairo International Airport from Paris.

The A320 aircraft disappeared from the radar early in the morning, shortly after take-off from the Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris.

Egypt’s national carrier has released a list of passenger nationalities, which includes three GCC nationals, including one Kuwaiti and one from Saudi Arabia. The majority of the passengers on board were Egyptian and French nationals.

“The passengers' nationalities are as follows: 15 French, 30 Egyptian, 1 British, 1 Belgium, 2 Iraqis, 1 Kuwaiti, 1 Saudi, 1 Sudanese, 1 Chadian, 1 Portuguese, 1 Algerian, 1 Canadian,” the airline’s complete list states.

The airline has said it has set up a crisis centre and is following up with the concerned authorities.

Passengers families are being hosted near Cairo Airport and the airline said it has provided doctors, translators and all other necessary services.

In its latest update, officials said the airline lost contact with flight MS804 when it disappeared from the radar above the Mediterranean Sea.

It said: “[The aircraft was] about 280kms from the Egyptian seacoast at 02.30am CLT as the flight was expected to arrive Cairo Airport at 3.15am CLT.”

The aircraft was carrying 56 passengers, including one child and two infants, along with 10 crewmembers.

EgyptAir added it will issue any additional information once available.

Special teams from the Egyptian Armed Forces are currently on site for the search and rescue operations.
