General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, on Wednesday received Yemeni Vice President and Prime Minister Khaled Mahafoudh Bahah and his accompanying delegation.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the visiting Yemeni Vice President and wished him success.

Bahah conveyed greetings of Yemeni President Abdo Rabo Mansour Hadi to President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his gratitude for the UAE's stand in support of legitimacy in Yemen. He referred to the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan's legacy and historic support of Yemen at all times.

Sheikh Mohamed asked Bahah to pass on Sheikh Khalifa's greetings to President Hadi and his wishes of security and stability for Yemen and its people.

Sheikh Mohamed emphasised UAE's historic stance towards Yemen and its commitment to support the Yemeni legitimacy in a way that would guarantee Yemen's regaining stability and security and maintaining its unity.

"The UAE renews its stand by Yemen by continuing to maintain social and job security for the members of the Yemeni community in the UAE. The UAE will always remain a second home to them and this is UAE's promise to our brothers and friends," he added.

Sheikh Mohamed indicated that the UAE's treatment of the different communities living here remains unchanged by different circumstances.

"Our interaction with the brothers and with all communities living in the UAE is not affected by any turn of events or crises."

Sheikh Mohamed underlined the strong brotherly relations between the two countries.

He also stressed the political solution in Yemen under the international community resolutions which requires reasons to ride out of the current crisis towards a Yemen "that is consistent with its Gulf and Arab surroundings. A Yemen that refuses to be a playground for regional interests. We have no option but to succeed for the sake of the GCC countries and for the sake of Yemen and no matter how difficult the challenge is, we are determined and capable to succeed because the only other alternative is regional instability, a constant threat to the Gulf security and a divided Yemen."

Sheikh Mohamed also called for maintaining Arab affairs away from any interventions. He praised the role played by the Custodian of the Tow Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and his firm stand in the face of all challenges posed at the region.

Bahah briefed Sheikh Mohamed on the developments in Yemen, as well as the efforts made by the Yemeni government to get all political parties in Yemen to take part in the peace talks, scheduled in Riyadh and the government's role in delivering humanitarian assistance to the affected people in Yemen, in collaboration with the operation restore hope and regional and international organisations.

He thanked Sheikh Khalifa for the UAE position in support of Yemen's security, stability and legitimacy. He also thanked the UAE leadership for the AED100 million support to Yemeni Government's Higher Committee for Relief and for taking part in Al Hazm storm and restore hope operations.

Bahha noted that the causalities among innocent people inflicted by the Houthi and Saleh invading militias far exceed those of the alliance operations.

He renewed Yemeni government's adherence to a peaceful solution under the UN resolution 2216.

The meeting was attended by H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, H.H.
