Qatar Airways has launched online tourist visa services for passengers flying with the flag carrier, via its website.
With this service, passengers can apply for a one-month single-entry tourist visa, which must be used within 60 days from the date of issue.
The validity of the visa and the visa period cannot be extended.
A Qatar Airways spokesperson stated: “The new system eases the process of applying for a tourist visa to Qatar for eligible passengers. It also provides passengers with the convenience of tracking their visa application status online.”
It takes approximately 10 days to process the visa at the cost of $55 per person.
The option to fast-track the application is available at a cost of $120 per person and takes approximately seven days to process.
The visa application fees are non-refundable.
To be eligible, applicants need to have a confirmed ticket in and out of Doha on a Qatar Airways flight.
They also need a hotel booking through Discover Qatar, the airline’s inbound holiday division, and the visa will be issued for the duration of their hotel stay only.
On its website, the airline further states that on arrival at Doha Airport, passengers may be requested by Qatar immigration, to provide proof of confirmed hotel reservation, confirmed return or onward air ticket and sufficient funds of at least $1,370 or equivalent or a valid major international credit card.
Entry into the country will be at the discretion of Qatar Immigration.
A visa is required for all nationalities except Gulf Co-Operation Council (GCC) nationals.
