The adage, “save the best for the last”, definitely holds true for Gitex Shopper, with many retailers slashing the prices of the much-in demand iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

What was being sold for Dh3,000 on the first day, is now going for around Dh2,699.

That’s not all, some retailers are even bundling it up with Gitex staples like selfie sick, power banks, case cover, and car charger.

Retailer 050-Telecom is offering the iPhone 6s (16GB) for Dh2,699, (64GB) for Dh3,100 and (128GB) for Dh3,500.  It is also throwing in select VIP numbers, stylus pen, 4-in-1 Sim adapter holder, 3-pin power adaptor and Gitex Shopper staples.

Prologix is pitching the 16GB iPhone 6s at Dh2,650, 64GB at Dh3,150 and 128GB for Dh3,500. “This is a fast-seller. We didn’t have the stock on the first few days, but we got it on day three, and the very first day we sold 90 pieces,” an agent said.

Tarsam Image pitched iPhone6s at Dh2,950 for 16GB, Dh3,350 for 64GB and Dh3,750 for 128GB.

Global Wireless Telecom is bundling their iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus with free case, powerbank, screen protector, selfie stick, car charger and car holder.

“We have only limited stock, so you better hurry,” announced their agent. They have priced the iPhone 6s 16GB for Dh3,260, 64GB for Dh3,300 and 128GB for Dh3,680. The iPhone 6s Plus 16GB is for Dh3,300, 64GB for Dh3,850 and 128GB for Dh4,385.

The competition is intense, with more retailers now stocking and selling the iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus.

“We had staggering sales on the first day because we were only one of three retailers selling it,” said the manager at the interestingly-named iPhone.

“But, now more retailers are selling it, so our sale has become stagnant. We are hoping it will pick up over the last days.”

His store is offering the iPhone 6s 16GB for Dh3,095, 64GB for Dh3,295 and 128GB for Dh3,595. The iPhone 6s Plus was being positioned at Dh3,495 for 16GB, Dh4,195 for Dh64GB and Dh4,995 for 128GB.

Viva Star General Trading, which had recorded massive sale on the first day, also admitted the sale has slowed down. They are selling iPhone 6s 16GB for Dh2,999 (all colours barring Rose Gold), 64GB for Dh3,399, and 128GB for Dh3,699. The Rose Gold shade is priced differently, with the 16GB going for Dh3,199, 64GB for 3,599 and 128GB for 3,699.

The iPhone 6s Plus is priced at Dh3,399 for 16GB (for all colours except Rose Gold), Dh3,699 for 64GB and Dh4,399 for 128GB. Even for this, the Rose Gold shade is priced differently, with 16GB for Dh3,599, 64GB at 3,899 and 128GB at 4,399.

UAE mobile providers are offering the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus for free when customers sign up for new annual plans.

Etisalat is offering post-paid packages for iPhone 6s, and iPhone 6s Plus, and claims the handsets will be for free. “If you sign up at Gitex Shopper, you get a power bank and a surprise gift from us,” their staff said.

Du, powered by Sky Telecom, is offering customers who sign up for Plan300 (yearly contract), the iPhone 6s for free.

Both mobile providers claim customers can pre-book the iPhone 6s, and 6s Plus, and the smartphones will be delivered before October 14.

The other retailers Jumbo, Jacky’s, Sharaf DG and E-Max are sticking to the official deadline of October 10.
