Ten Dubai Health Authority (DHA) Primary Health Care Centers received international accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI) proving once again the authority’s commitment to providing first-class medical services that are at par with international standards.

The centers, which received the accreditation after meeting the rigorous standards of the JCI include the Primary Healthcare Centers in Nad Al Hamar, Al Badaa, Al Barsha, Al Khawaneej, Al Safa, Al Twar, Al Mizhar, Al Mankhool, Al Mamzar and Al Lissaily.

JCI is an organisation, which works to improve patient safety and quality of health care in the international community by offering education, publications, advisory services, and international accreditation and certification.

In more than 100 countries, JCI partners with hospitals, clinics, and academic medical centers; health systems and agencies; government ministries; academia; and international advocates to promote rigorous standards of care and to provide solutions for achieving peak performance.

Humaid Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of DHA, said the success of any medial organisation depends on the vast development of its primary health care services.

He stressed that the authority has a special emphasis on developing its primary health care centers as they are the first destination for members of society and they are the basis of instilling a system of prevention and successful treatment.

He also reaffirmed that the authority spares no effort in developing its primary health centers by equipping them with the latest technology and experienced medical and administrate staff.

Al Qatami thanked all the center’s staff for their efforts in elevating the services provided by the center adding that without them, such an international achievement could not have been achieved.

Dr Manal Taryam, Executive Director of Primary Health Care at DHA, said the accreditation is not a goal but an indicator to measure the performance of the centers, the quality of services they provide and customer satisfaction.
She said receiving the accreditation is an incentive for all the center’s staff as it is proof that they are on the right path of providing well-rounded services that are par with international standards
