106 children granted UAE citizenship

The Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs Department at the Ministry of Interior on Monday granted the citizenship to eligible 106 children of Emirati mothers, following the federal decree issued by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Major General Nasser Lakhraibani Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of the office of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, congratulated those covered by the presidential decree, urging them to become good citizens, sustain reputation of the state and its image, preserve Emirati cultural norms, abide by the constitution, laws and regulations in force, and taking into account the prevailing norms, authentic Arabic customs and traditions, and tolerance, which characterises the UAE society. 

Al Nuaimi, who is also Deputy Chairman of  Activating Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs Sector's Council, emphasised that the wise leadership of the UAE diligently provides all means of security and prosperity to the community, so as to ensure continuity of the urban development to make the UAE a role model in  prosperity not only at the regional level, but also at the world level.

For his part, Brig. Dr. Rashid Sultan Al Khidir, Deputy Chairman of Legal Council at the Ministry, official spokesman for the Naturalisation, Residency and Ports Affairs, welcomed the gesture of leadership to provide decent living conditions to all citizens in accordance to the constitution, noting that the UAE President cherishes aspirations of the nation, as he strives to clear all hurdles to ensure the highest standards of family stability, a move that reflects positively on the community.

The beneficiaries expressed their joy about the presidential decree, which granted them the citizenship.
