The UAE Cabinet today said prayers for fallen Emirati servicemen and issued a statement on Martyrs’ Day  November 30, 2015, honouring the fallen service men who sacrificed their lives to maintain legitimacy, defend the nation, and safeguard its gains.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, said, "Martyrs’ Day marks a beginning of a new era in the UAE, an era of sacrifice for the sake of the nation and its future, and establishing cohesion with its leaders to preserve its security, stability and interests."
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid continued, "We promise them on this day that we will be loyal to them, we will be fathers for their sons and daughters. We promise we will maintain the same trajectory. We will appreciate their sacrifice and they will be forever remembered. On this day, the UAE celebrates its distinguished sons who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country, for the sake of making its flag fly high, with glory and pride for its people."
The UAE Cabinet held its exceptional meeting at the Al Ain-based Qasr Al Muwaiji. The meeting was attended by  Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
Sheikh Mohammed said, "We are meeting today in the historic Qasr Al Muwaiji, which has maintained the values of the UAE for over a century, a witness to many of the crucial events in the history of the nation, and a symbol of the path of our leader, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan."
"Qasr Al Muwaiji was the Majlis for residents and visitors alike to look into their affairs and discuss the means to improve their lives. Our meeting today is evidence of its significance and value in the minds of Emiratis, and that will always remain, as it was a place for making crucial decisions and launching initiatives that will improve the lives of the people and ensure a decent life," Sheikh Mohammed added.
Their Highnesses the Cabinet Members toured the Qasr, which was built over a century ago during the reign of Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa the Great. Qasr Al Muwaiji is majestic evidence of the history of the UAE. The President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was born and raised in the Qasr, helping his father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, while the latter was the Ruler's Representative in Al Ain. Qasr Al Muwaiji has been restored and opened in November to showcase the history of the place and the life and achievements of the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Cabinet Ministers also discussed a number of projects and national initiatives on the agenda.
