Dubai Executive Council reviews medium term plan

Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum presided today a meeting of Dubai Executive Council. During the meeting, the Council members reviewed the emirate's medium term economic plan (2012 - 2015).

The plan's objectives are mainly drawn from the UAE federal government plan "UAE Vision 2021" and the Dubai Strategic Vision.

The plan envisions Dubai as a world-renowned and leading city that provides prosperity to its residents through sustainable economic development and the efforts to raise per capita income and productivity and to boost competitiveness.

The Council members discussed policies and initiatives relating to the economic plan, including the need to develop a regulatory framework for economic activities, improving government services, enhancing job market efficiency, encouraging UAE citizens to work in private sector and developing human capital.

Sheikh Maktoum, who is the Deputy Chairman of Dubai Economic Council, said economic development features at the top of the Council's priorities. He urged the concerned entities in the emirate to work towards strengthening the economy in order to achieve a long term sustainable development.
