Sharjah applies new tariff system for electricity and water based on consumption (FILE)
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah, has instructed the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) to initiate measures for early preparation to meet growing demand for water and power supplies in the coming summer season.
Sheikh Sultan urged Sewa management to foster and develop creativity and innovation, introduce modern technology, reach out to strategic partners in development and draw lessons from similar experiments.
Sheikh Sultan gave his instructions during a visit to Sewa premises where he inspected progress of work in projects under the Sewa 2011 strategic plan.
Sheikh Sultan also held a meeting with Sheikh Abdullah bin Salim Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Sewa Chairman along with senior Sewa engineers and administrators.
