Sheikh Hamdan emphasised the importance of completing the project as per the set schedule and achieving all its related aspects. He added that the museum will serve as a destination for inventors and entrepreneurs across the world.

Shaikh Hamdan issued the orders as he chaired a meeting of the board of Museum of the Future at the Executive Office of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He noted that  Sheikh Mohammed takes great interest in the project due to its importance for developing an environment that fosters innovation in line with the requirements and needs of the new generation in smart future cities and enhances innovation in the UAE.

He stressed the need to complete the museum by 2017 so as to fulfil the goals for which it was established. These goals include ensuring that the museum provides the best innovative environment in the world.

"The UAE is building a constructive future and the museum is one of the leadership's ambitious future plans for building this constructive future, create a knowledge-based economy, long-term development solutions and transform the UAE into a key global destination for innovation," Sheikh Hamdan said.

He also stressed the need to collaborate and unify efforts and work as a team to expedite the completion of the project, which would contribute to consolidating Dubai's and the UAE’s position as an innovation stimulating platform.

Sheikh Hamdan said that practical steps have been taken to attract researchers, inventors and leading international scientific institutions and research centres.

Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the museum’s board, and other members of the board of the museum, attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the board discussed the goals of the museum, most notably the innovation-friendly environment that supports creativity, helps develop education, and enhances community awareness about the importance of innovation to cope with requirements for the future.
