Khalifa, Mohammed receive Emir of Qatar

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Emir of Qatar His Higness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani held talks at Al Rodah Palace on Tuesday in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of UAE Armed Forces.

Sheikh Khalifa welcomed Sheikh Hamad and his entourage, wishing further growth to fraternal relations between the two countries. The two sides exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest on the Arab and international arenas. They expressed their satisfaction on the growth of relations in the framework of joint coordination regarding the regional and Arab issues.

The talks also tackled the relations and ways to bolster them in all fields.

The Emir of Qatar expressed his pleasure about visiting the UAE, hailing the depth of relations between the leadership of two sisterly countries.

Sheikh Khalifa hosted a banquet in honour of Emir of Qatar and his entourage.

Present at the meeting were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region and National Security Advisor Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, were also present.

Flanked by Sheikh Khalifa, Sheikh Hamad shook hands with high ranking UAE officials, including Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Sheikh Diab bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister; Sheikh Omar bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation; Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan Chairman of the Department of Finance; Dr Sheikh Saeed bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Hazza bin Tahnoun, undersecretary of the court of Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region; Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Ahmed Jumaa Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs; Mohammed Ahmed Al Bawardi; Secretary-General of the Executive Council, a number of sheikhs and other senior officials.

The UAE President greeted the entourage of Emir of Qatar, including Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Thani, special adviser to Emir of Qatar, a number of senior Qatari officials and Qatari Ambassador to UAE Abdullah Mohammed Al Osman.
