Khalifa receives Rulers, Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers

UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan received Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his brothers, Their Highnesses, the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers in the presence of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Western Region Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Congratulating Sheikh Khalifa on the UAE's 39th National Day were Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme Council Member His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Fujairah and Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Umm Al Quwain and Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Ruler of Ajman and Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sharjah Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Fujairah Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Umm Al Quwain Crown Prince Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Ajman Crown Prince Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi and Deputy Ruler of Umm Al Quwain Sheikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Mualla.

The well-wishers called on almighty God to bless the UAE President with good health, happiness and continued success in developing the nation and its citizens.

Also present at the meeting were Federal National Council Speaker Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair, Abu Dhabi Ruler's Representative in the Eastern Region Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler's Representative in Abu Dhabi Saeed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Issa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Presidential Flights Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, other sheikhs, ministers, dignitaries and senior officials.

President Sheikh Khalifa chaired a meeting of the UAE Supreme Council, during which they discussed the federation's progress over the 39 years since unification.

Present at the meeting at Al Mushrif Palace were UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, Ruler of Dubai and Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Sharjah and Supreme Council Member His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah and Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Fujairah and Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Umm Al Quwain and Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla and Ruler of Ajman and Supreme Council Member His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi.

During discussions the leaders stressed the importance of enhancing national plans boost prosperity and meet the aspirations of the country's citizens.

Following the meeting Sheikh Khalifa hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of his brother Sheikh Mohammed, Their Highnesses, the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, crown princes, deputy rulers, sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.

The President later honoured the winners of the Emirates Appreciation Awards for Science, Arts, Literature and Sports today, in the presence of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Their Highnesses, the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown princes and deputy rulers.

Sheikh Khalifa congratulated the prize winners on their achievements, saying that their excellence and creativity within their respective fields is a reflection of the nation's high-caliber talent pool. He went on to describe the award recipients as motivators for younger generations to work hard to contribute to the country's advancement. He also added that the UAE would continue to support its youth in developing their skills and abilities.

The awards winners expressed their great happiness on meeting with Sheikh Khalifa, thanking him for the encouragement he gives to science, the arts, intellectuals and the country's citizens.

The ceremony was also attended by sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.
