Khalifa welcomes Turkish President

President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan received in Abu Dhabi on Monday afternoon at Al Dhiyafa Palace in Al Mushrif, Turkish President Abdullah Gul.

Gul was accorded an official reception. The two Presidents headed to the podium of honour, where the national anthems of two countries were played. 21 canon shots were fired in salute of the guest of the country. Then the Turkish President inspected the guard honour in the courtyard of the palace.

Gul then headed to the Union Hall, where he shook hands with the senior officials, including General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region; Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Eastern Region; Sheikh Hazaa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser; Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court; Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister; Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to UAE President; Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council; Sheikh Dr Saeed bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority; Ahmed Jumaa Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs; Khalid Khalifa Al Mualla, UAE Ambassador to Turkey, a number of sheikhs and senior military and civilian officials.

The UAE President greeted the members of official delegation accompanying the Turkish President. They include Ahmed Dawood Oglo, Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Turkey's Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, members of Parliament, other senior officials and Turkish Ambassador to UAE Vural Altay.

Gul is escorted by Mission of Honour chaired by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy.

President receives credentials of seven ambassadors 
 
President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has stressed keenness of the UAE on extension of bridges of friendship, cooperation and tolerance among different countries worldwide.

He welcomed the envoys, wishing them success in their new jobs. Sheikh Khalifa added that the UAE will provide support to the envoys through competent authorities to help upgrade the relations between the UAE and their countries.

The UAE President made the remark on Monday while receiving the credentials of seven Arab and friendly countries' ambassadors at Al Dhiyafa Palace in the presence of General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region.

Sheikh Khalifa received the credentials from the ambassadors of Vietnam, Turkmenistan, Germany, Sweden, Djibouti, Morocco and Australia.

Also present were Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Ruler`s Representative in the Eastern Region, Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Adviser to UAE President, Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Member of the Executive Council, Sheikh Dr Saeed bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority, Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Jumaa Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, Khalid Khalifa Al Mualla, a number of Sheikhs and senior officials.

Earlier before they met the President, the new envoys were accorded an official ceremony at Al Dhiyafa Palace in Al Mushrif, where the national anthems of their countries were played.
