List of kids eligible for UAE citizenship in process

A committee tasked with implementing the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on children of UAE women married to foreigners recommended that the Ministry of Interior compile a list of eligible children who satisfied requirements for citizenship after they reach 18 years.

In its first meeting at the Presidential Palace under the chairmanship of Ahmed Juma Al Za'abi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs, the committee asked the Ministry of Interior to raise the final list to the Presidential Affairs Ministry which will, in turn, submit it to the President for issuing relevant decrees on them.

The committee also instructed that those children be treated as citizens in delivery of education and health services as well as sports activities.

The body was set up by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, and has members and representatives from the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, the Higher National Security Council, the State Security Authority and the Ministry of Interior.
