Careers UAE was inaugurated on Monday by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler, with a record number of visitors expected to attend this year's event.

The most established recruitment, training and education exhibition with exclusive focus on Emirati talent, Careers UAE will run until 23 March at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Careers UAE plays a key role in facilitating the best career opportunities for UAE nationals within a wide range of UAE-based private and public organisations. More than 130 exhibitors are participating this year from 11 industry sectors, including aviation, banking, oil '&' gas, retail, telecommunications, transport, municipal and government divisions, as well as the hospitality sector, which is being introduced for the first time to meet increasing labour market demand.

"We thank H.H. Sheikh Maktoum for his support of Careers UAE as the most established recruitment, training and education event in the UAE.
This year's show has gained a new and critical level of focus as the UAE government introduces a compulsory 15 percent quota of UAE nationals in every locally based company's workforce. Careers UAE provides a valuable and effective platform for businesses to fulfil new regulatory requirements and showcase the career opportunities available within their organisations," said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre, organiser of the Careers UAE.

Companies participating at the exhibition represent a broad range of industry sectors include Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (Platinum Sponsor), National Bank of Abu Dhabi (Gold and Passport Trail Sponsor), Commercial Bank of Dubai (Silver Sponsor), Al Tayer Group, DEWA, Dolphin Energy, du, Dubai Duty Free, Emirates Airline, Ericsson, Etisalat, General Holding Corporation and investment company Tawazun.

International academic institutions, training organisations and professional bodies are also active participants at Careers UAE. British University, the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Skyline University, University of United Arab Emirates and Zayed University will be offering visitors the opportunity to improve their skills base and gain internationally accredited qualifications.

Pioneering online career portal Ershaad, which offers jobs exclusively for UAE Nationals and is a provider of Emiratisation support to UAE employers across all industries and emirates, is offering 200 jobs through on-the-spot interviews during the show, while "Lunch with Leaders" offers bright and ambitious young Emiratis a place at an exclusive, high level lunch with a number of high profile business leaders.

Careers UAE 2011 features the AIESEC Leadership Forum, which aims to empower Emirati youth with the confidence to make well-informed life choices and develop their career goals. In partnership with Dubai Women Establishment, the show is also introducing the Emirati Women Leaders Forum, which will highlight the success of women in the country and showcase them as role models for the younger generation.
