Mohamed bin Zayed meets President of Montenegro

General Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has discussed with President Filip Vujanovic of Montenegro, cooperation ties and friendship.

The President received the Crown Prince and his delegation at the presidential residence in the Montenegrin capital, Podgorica.

President Vujanovic welcomed Sheikh Mohamed and the delegation accompanying, expressing his pleasure at the visit.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi conveyed the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to the President and his best wishes to Montenegro and its people.

Sheikh Mohamed stressed the importance of strengthening relations in different fields, referring to the efforts by the Montenegrin President to achieve this in the best interest of the two peoples.

They discussed ways of enhancing the bilateral cooperation in different sectors, especially in the areas of economy, trade and investment.

The President asked Sheikh Mohamed to convey his regards to the UAE President and people, wishing the UAE more prosperity. He noted that the visit reflects the common interest of the leadership in both countries to exchange visits and develop relations, adding that his country is looking forward to developing its bilateral ties with the UAE in a way that serves the interest of both sides.

President Vujanovic commended the UAE for dispatching aid to Montenegro to tackle repercussions of natural catastrophes through assisting the refugees, and funding water projects and agricultural development. "There were great opportunities for investments in both countries", he said.

The two sides also exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest.

The President of Montenegro conferred on the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi the Order of the Montenegrin Great Star, in appreciation of his huge contribution to the development of the relations between the UAE and Montenegro. The order is conferred on those who contribute to development of ties of cooperation and friendship between Montenegro and other countries.

The meeting was attended by Khaldoun Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, Staff Major General Eisa Saif Al Mazrouei, Deputy Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Mohammed Al Abbar, Chairman of Emaar, Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Under Secretary of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi's Court, Waleed Ahmed Al Muhairi, Mubadala's Chief Operating Officer, and the UAE Ambassador to Montenegro Hafsa Abdullah Mohammed Sherif Al Ulama. On the Montenegrin side, the meeting was attended by the Foreign Policy Adviser to the President of Montenegro and by the Montenegro Ambassador to UAE, Aleksandar Erakovic.

Sheikh Mohamed and the delegation accompanying him were received earlier in the day at Podgorica International Airport by the Prime Minister of Montenegro Milo Dukanovic and a number of senior officials.
