His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, has offered his sincere condolences to the family of martyr Ahmed Hebaitan Al Baloushi, who succumbed to the injuries he sustained at the battle for Marib, where the Arab coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, is backing the legitimate government of Yemen.

Al Baloushi was receiving treatment at a hospital in Germany.

Sheikh Mohamed extended his deep condolences and sympathies to the family of the martyr during a visit to the mourning gathering in the emirate of Umm Al Qaiwain today.

He also prayed to Almighty Allah to grant rest to his soul in eternal peace, and bestow patience and solace on his family and relatives.

As he chatted with members of the martyr's family, Sheikh Mohamed said he was proud of the ultimate sacrifices offered by the nation's martyrs in the battle of honour and glory, demonstrating a high sense of dedication, self-denial and heroism to raise the UAE's flag aloft to ensure the security and stability of Yemeni people.

Hailing the spirit of national solidarity and cohesion shown by the UAE's glorious people, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi said this has ushered the UAE towards a new chapter for a well-entrenched and fortified Union.

''Day after day, Emiratis are setting a bright example of loyalty to their dear nation in reality, with solid resolve and determination to ensure that the UAE holds its head high and pursues its path towards further glory and progress,'' Sheikh Mohamed concluded.

Sheikh Rashid bin Saud bin Rashid Al Mu'alla, Crown Prince of Umm Al Quwain, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, and Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouie, Undersecretary of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, also extended their condolences to the martyr's family.

Education is a key priority for national development: Mohamed

In a message on the World Teacher's Day, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, applauded the teachers for their vital role in nation-building, saying the UAE leadership, led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, views the human being as a real, valuable asset and capital of the nation.

Sheikh Mohamed said the UAE is joining the world celebrations of the day, which falls on 5th October every year, to show its recognition and express its gratitude for the central role that teachers play in shaping the future of our country by upbringing young generations and building communities.

In his message of reverence and gratitude to the teachers, H.H. said, ''You are the backbone of the most valuable asset we have, which is the human being. The responsibility of building the Emirati human being lies on your shoulders. You are the ones who have the honour to groom future generations who will pursue the process of building and development, serve and defend our beloved country and preserve its gains.'' ''Our children are the real treasure of the country and you are the only ones we trust to build, develop and inspire their imagination, immunise their thought process and deepen their sense of loyalty. Whoever bears this tremendous responsibility is performing a national duty which is as great as the duty of a soldier who defends his country in battles of honour and glory.

"Such a mission pushes your role to the core of our vision for a bright future for the UAE and, most importantly, the work for drawing and implementing our plans for upgrading our education system.'' ''We are all required to work together to transform our societies from knowledge-consuming to knowledge-producing ones in a manner that makes this knowledge fulfil our future requirements, respect our cultural identity and preserve our values that distinguish the UAE society from other societies. This goal will not be achieved without an effective, responsible role of the teacher and this fits well with the theme that the Unesco has set for the World Teacher's Day: "Empowering teachers, building sustainable societies.''

He added that the world has moved far ahead in the fields of science, thought and innovation and we are living today amid an unprecedented scientific renaissance which imposes upon all of us, notably teachers, the responsibility to develop self-skills, scientific abilities and keep pace with the technological advancements so as to be able to guide the learning process effectively and efficiently and to be a model that all would like to emulate.

Sheikh Mohamed said, ''You are well conscious of the educational dimension in the learning process amidst the present challenges the UAE is facing, which need redoubling of our efforts to launch constructive and effective initiatives in raising, guiding and educating our children about latest developments so as to deepen values such as loyalty and allegiance to their homeland and enhance their sense of national responsibility in addressing and tackling diverse intellectual, political, social and other challenges. This mission requires us to act today for a better tomorrow.'' Concluding his message, Sheikh Mohamed said, ''Our confidence in the loyalty and dedication of male and female teachers is rock solid and our belief in your abilities and competencies is immense. You will deliver more achievements and preserve national gains. I hereby assure you that education receives unlimited support of our leadership and constitutes a key priority for us which we will support. ''
