Mohammed attends Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai attended the concluding round of the 9th Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday.

A showcase of the beauty, heritage and agility of the world's finest Purebred Arabian horses, the final round of the three-day championship saw the participation of horses from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Belgium and Poland.

Sheikh Mohammed presented awards to the owners of wining horses and congratulated the winners, expressing his great satisfaction with the competition and the fine Purebred Arabian horses participating in the championship; the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world.

Also attending the championship were Dubai Deputy Ruler and Finance Minister Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ajman Crown Prince Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Cabinet Affairs Minister Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Director of Dubai Ruler's Office Lt. General Musabbah Rashid Al Fattan, a number of Sheikhs, senior officials and a host of Arabian horse and equestrian enthusiasts.

Sheikh Mohammed also visited the Dubai International Horse Fair 2012; the trade fair and exhibition that caters to the needs of professional riders, owners, stables and clubs attracted companies from 35 countries.

During his tour in the fair, Sheikh Mohammed examined some of the latest equine care products, equipment and gear.
