Mohammed attends graduation ceremony

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces on Thursday morning attended the 41th graduation ceremony of Cadet Pilot officers and the eighth course of Air faculty cadet officers at Khalifa bin Zayed Air College in Al Ain.

Addressing the new cadets, Sheikh Mohammed stressed the keenness of the President and the Supreme Commander of the UAE armed forces His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan on the attainment of our armed forces the highest levels of development, efficiency and readiness through training, education and empowerment of its staff with the view that they can entrench and protect the national gains.

He added that our concept to modernise our armed forces begins from the quest for the preparation of national cadres of qualified and highly trained staff in line with the qualitative development of science and military technology. This modernisation also necessitates to seek advanced weapons that suits our needs and meet our plans and strategy of defense.

He expressed happiness over the graduation of the new regiments and its accession to the units of our armed forces to become the shield of the homeland and its achievements.

The event was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chief of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince's Court, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) in addition to other Sheikhs.

Also attending were Lieutenant General Obaid Mohammed Al Ka'abi, Under Secretary of Defence Ministry, Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces, Air Vice Marshal Mohammed bin Suwaidan Saeed Al Qamzi, Commander of the Air Forces and Air Defence in addition to senior Army and Police officers and high ranking officials.
