Mohammed attends graduation ceremony

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attends the graduation ceremony of the 25th batch of the Joint Command and Staff College in Abu Dhabi (Wam)

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, today attended the graduation ceremony of the 25th batch of the Joint Command and Staff College in Abu Dhabi.

The ceremony, held at the College’s campus, was attended by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Pilot Staff-Brigadier Sheikh Ahmed bin Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National and Reserve Service Authority, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of State for Defence Affairs, and Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, along with a number of senior armed forces and police force officers, as well as members of the diplomatic corps and military attaches of the embassies of brotherly and friendly countries.

The ceremony began as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Patron of the ceremony, arrived at the college's campus where he inspected a Guard of Honour and met commanding officers who lined up in his honour.

Mohammed honours winners of Arab Reading Challenge

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has instructed the distribution of thank-you certificates bearing his signature to 50,000 students in the UAE who have successfully completed reading 50 books in the school year as part of the Arab Reading Challenge Project.

The Arab Reading Challenge Project saw the participation of more than 160,000 students from 828 schools in the UAE, whose students have completed reading 5 million books during the school year.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed began signing and distributing the first 15 certificates himself to outstanding students within the project in the UAE, in the presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation.
