His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai attended the ‘President of the UAE Cup’ event for Purebred Arabian horses at Newmarket yesterday.
The 2,000 metre-race was held as part of the Summer July Festival under the directives of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The Emirates Equestrian Federation, under the chairmanship of Member of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan organised the £50,000 event in partnership with Etihad Airways.
The first Secretary at the UAE Embassy in the UK Sheikh Mohammed bin Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum hailed Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid’s attendance and follow- up of the event, saying his presence gave impetus to the participants in the race
