Mohammed honours government staff

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,attended the honouring ceremony of about 1,460 employees working the in the Federal Government, who significantly obtained assessments in excess of expectations, according to the results of the performance management system for 2013, which was held in the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Adnec.

The ceremony was attended by  Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid AI Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, along with a number of Sheikhs, officials and Federal Government Leaders.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed said, "Our development march in the UAE, led by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, passes through stations and it has times in which we all stand to honour our anonymous soldiers and to thank and appreciate sincerely our sons of the nation and support those who achieved excellent accomplishments for the U.A.E..

" Your excellence is an excellence for the Government, and your excellence is an excellence for the country. Your successes are successes for the march of our country, and every superior person in his work is a commander and can be a great leader if he teaches others, benefitting society and creating other leaders," Sheikh Mohammed said.

Sheikh Mohammed added that, "The biggest successes and achievements are to be in service of the country, facilitating the lives of people and achieving the happiness of the community".

Sheikh Mohammed handed over honouring certificates to 147 male and female employees who showed excellence for two consecutive years, according to the results of the performance management system applied to staff of the Federal Government.

In this context, Sheikh Mohammed lauded the category of high performance employees for two consecutive years, who he said deserve to stand on the stage and be honoured by Sheikh Mohammed in recognition of the importance of their role to become more prepared and transmit positive energy in a dynamic working environment.

He also added that the advanced level achieved by the U.A.E. when it comes to competitiveness and leadership, besides the excellence and efficiency in the government, now require everyone to redouble efforts and work as a team with a clear vision to sustain these gains.

A new approach to work must be adopted, at the basis of which should be creative thinking and positive energy. The people of the U.A.E. must feel a sense of motivation and launch creative initiatives which enhance the prestige of the emirate and add to its global competitiveness in line with the U.A.E. Vision 2021 and its national agenda.

On his part, Sheikh Mansour underscored that the U.A.E. is taking significant leaps in all areas and sectors, especially at the level of the Federal Government, thanks to the tireless guidance of and follow-up by the U.A.E.'s wise leadership led by the President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members, Rulers of the Emirates.

Sheikh Mansour pointed out that the global level recent accomplishment of the U.A.E. has set for the officials and decision-makers a qualitative challenge to continue the march of success and uphold the U.A.E.'s bright status in all forums.

Sheikh Mansour said that the U.A.E. has made great progress in the area of human resource development, giving priority to health, education and overall societal development. It adopted the best practices and systems, besides global human resource policies, which led it to discover and build upon the core strengths of its human resources to manage and conduct the comprehensive development process to ensure prosperity for our people.

At the end of the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the distinguished employees and praised their efforts to perform and contribution to enhance the productivity of the Federal Government.

The performance management system of the Federal government employees, which became applicable at the beginning of 2012 at federal level is one of the best human resources practices that the federal government is seeking to anchor.

This links individual goals for the employee to the larger objectives of the institutions in line with the Federal government's strategy.

The system measures the efficiency of the employees and helps in raising it, thus enhancing productivity by rewarding achievement and motivating employees. It helps in raising national efficiency throw up leadership and excellence at a time when the U.A.E. is seeking to attain the highest position in global competitiveness.
