Mohammed bin Zayed congratulates Khalifa and Mohammed bin Rashid

General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, congratulated the President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on the truly well-deserved victory of the UAE football national team winning the 21st Gulf Cup in Bahrain.

General Sheikh Mohammed also congratulated their Highnesses the Members of the Supreme Council and Rulers of the emirates and their Crown Princes on the historic achievement.

Crown Prince also congratulated the national team delegation including the players, administrative and technical staff for the achievement which has added to the many successes of the youth of the nation in the various sports fields. He lauded the heroic performance of the national team’s members and the dedicated guidance of the distinguished coach Mahdi Ali’s efforts that came together and resulted evidently in winning the Gulf Cup.

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the Emirati people and fans who have gone to great extents to support their team through and through, boosting greatly their spirits, emphasizing that the great achievement and outstanding performance results from the support coming from the wise leadership. He wished the national team a continuous success.

The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi took the opportunity to congratulate King of Bahrain speaking over the phone to Abu Dhabi Sports Channel. "I would like to congratulate His Majesty King Hamad bin Essa Al Khalifa, King of the brotherly Kingdom of Bahrain on the success in organizing this marvelous event and would like to dedicate the UAE victory to him". He also thanked the people of Bahrain and media persons covering the event.

Sheikh Mohammed said: "We are greatly overjoyed. It’s jubilation for everybody," adding that "we are blessed to have such a high level national football team." Expressing his pride further in both the coach and each and every member of the team who earned this victory, making the nation's heart swell with pride, he said that the team is eying achievements on international level. "We know that there’s a long way to go. But, we are confident in our sons".

Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces has presented gratitude and appreciation to the exceptional coach who's honored the nation in all games and competitions and championships he's taken part in.

Emphasizing that the" true investment is in our boys who are the future of the nation", Sheikh Mohammed voiced his prayers of a long life for the UAE, its children, and its leader Sheikh Khalifa, and the blessing of Shaikh Zayed’s soul.

He believes that these results, delightful as they are, are not just "returning a favor", but it is a collective duty for all of UAE's children. "Our nation deserves more and our boys are very precious in our eyes".

Commenting on the president His Highness Sheikh Khalifa's reception of the national team, the Crown Prince said: "Sheikh Khalifa follows the game just like any other citizen immersing himself in the game and team's performance, and he is keen on meeting his children to express his pride and gratitude".
