Mohammed chairs brainstorming session

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,  has asserted that the next development phase in the UAE requires new thinking in public administration due to the changes in challenges’ nature, growth in ambitions and increase in expectations.

Sheikh Mohammed’s remarks came during his chairship of a brainstorming session with his team at his office in Emirates Towers. The session was held in presence of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

Sheikh Mohammed said that his prime job as a leader is to extract best ideas from the team and implementing these ideas in reality to achieve peoples’ happiness; and we need new tools, different ways and unlimited innovation to keep up with such globally competitive environment that is getting more vicious day after day.

During his meeting with teams from Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the Executive Office, Sheikh Mohammed added that change is a nature of life, and everything in our developmental experiment is subject to change and development including the fundamentals of the experiment and vision the inspires our current projects. He added that the vision develops and grows and the rules adopt with the local, regional and international changes and circumstances; therefore, we must keep moving, renew our thinking and changing our tools. Sheikh Mohammed said: “What limits you is your own imagination. What we can imagine, we can implement.”

During the brainstorming session that was attended by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Sheikh Mohammed lauded the new ideas that he receives from various teams. He called all officials to hold regular brainstorming sessions with their innovative and creative staff and not to limit their communication to department managers and restrain themselves with sold administration structures. He added that they must keep their doors and brains open for discussion. 

Sheikh Mohammed and his team discussed during the second brainstorming session the best ways to boost and enhance UAE’s competitiveness.

By the end of the brainstorming session, Sheikh Mohammed praised the ideas that he had shared from the team and he requested them to pursue their ambitions. Sheikh Mohammed assured to the team that his vision is to activate, enable and empower the youth and emphasis on the idea of a government led by innovation and the ability to adopt. Sheikh Mohammed concluded that talented members are the actual capital in any developmental project.

Visits Boat Show

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday visited the Dubai International Boat Show. The show is organised by Dubai International Trade Centre in cooperation with Dubai International Marine Club and will be open from March 4-8 March.

Accompanied by Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Director General of Dubai’s Rulers Court Lt. General Musabah Rashid Al Fattan and Director General of Dubai Protocol Department Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Sheik Mohammed toured the exhibition that showcases the latest national and international products, equipments and accessories related to fishing, diving and sailing.

Sheikh Mohammed also toured the open area of the exhibition where he browsed through modern yachts that visit the Middle East for the first time.

Saeed Hareb, Vice President of Dubai International Maritime Club, briefed Sheikh Mohammed on the origin, specifications and prices of some the yachts at the marina  offshore Jumairah. Hareb asserted that over 50 countries, including the UAE and some GCC countries, are exhibiting over 430 boats and yachts. Hareb added that the total value of the boats and yachts participating in the Dubai International Boat Show exceed Dh 2 billion.

Sheikh Mohammed expressed his happiness for the success that the Dubai International Boat Show has accumulated over 20 years which reflects its importance for the UAE and GCC citizens as they are experienced seamen, and they follow the footsteps of their grandfathers. Additionally, the sea is a big part of their life and source of income and food.

Mohammed welcomes PAGE participants

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,  Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,  received on Tuesday afternoon the ministers and international organisations’ representatives participating in the 1st Global Conference on Partnership for Action on Green Economy (2014 PAGE Conference).

In the presence of  Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai. and  Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed Dubai’s guests wishing them a pleasant time in the UAE and a successful conference.

The conference is organised by the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water in cooperation with United Nations Environment Programme (Unep), International Labour Organisation (Ilo), United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (Unido) and United Nations Institute for Training and Research (Unitar).

The ministers and international officials expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the UAE's initiative to organise this conference that aims to exchange experiences between member states to establish policies that promote green economy concepts.

The conference praised the UAE’s efforts to adapt and implement green economy on the national level and to support international initiatives to achieve sustainable development goals.

The meeting was attended by Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Environment and Water Dr. Rashid Ahmed bin Fahad, Minister of Energy Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei and Director General of Dubai Protocol Department Khalifa Saeed Suleiman.
