Mohammed condoles with martyr's family

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday offered condolences on the death of martyr Ahmed Hibtan Al Beloushi, who died while performing his national duty during participation in the Arab coalition 'Operation Restore Hope' in Yemen.


Sheikh Mohammed visited the mourning majlis in Umm Al Quwain where he extended his sincere condolences to Al Beloushi's family and prayed to Allah Almighty to bestow His mercy upon him and rest him in eternal peace.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by Lt. General Misbah bin Rashid Al Fattan, Director of the Office of the Vice-President, and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.

Mohammed receives Chairman of Thomson Reuters

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Monday received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Thomson Reuters, David Thomson, on the sidelines of the Global Islamic Economy Summit 2015.

The summit is being organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre, in cooperation with Thomson Reuters.

Among those who attended the meeting were Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gargawi, Minister for Cabinet Affairs, and Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Director-General of the Department of Protocol and Hospitality in Dubai.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed issues on the agenda of the summit and the objectives of holding it in Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed was briefed by Thomson on the goals of the Thomson Reuters's Initiative aimed to open a new innovation centre in Dubai to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It also aims to accomplish innovative economic initiatives which would contribute to supporting the Islamic economy locally and internationally.

They also tackled the ‘Peace Gate’ Initiative, launched on Monday at the summit, which is a platform for supporting innovation and introducing opportunities of the Islamic economy, as well as achieving benefit for all to enhance the concept and culture of the Islamic economy in the UAE, region and across the world.
