Mohammed establishes NIMS

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued Cabinet Resolution No (28) of 2014 on the establishment of UAE National Institute for Medical Specialisations (NIMS).

Pursuant to the resolution, NIMS is working under the umbrella of the UAE University.

The institute aims to develop and upgrade the country’s healthcare sector by helping upgrade medical cadres through “continuous training in cooperation with national and international educational institutions”.

Published in the latest edition of the Official Gazette, the Cabinet Resolution includes number of articles prescribing NIMS’s objectives, structure, authorities, obligations and limitations.
