Mohammed inspects new police building

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inspected today (Monday)  the new premises of the Dubai Police General Headquarters’ General Department of Forensic Science and Criminolog , the first of its kind in the Middle East in terms of technology, specialisations and area.

On arrival at the site, accompanied by  Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai,  and Director General of Dubai Protocol Department Khalifa Saeed Suleiman, Sheikh Mohammed was received by Dubai Police Chief Major General Khamis Mattar Al Muzainah and a number of police staff.

Sheikh Mohammed congratulated the staff on this great achievement before he was briefed by Al Muzainah on the various sections of the new department.

Built on an area of 420,000 square feet, the Dh370 million premises houses six sections and consists of 27 new sections including a training institute.

Watching the run of work, Sheikh Mohammed followed up engineering and construction works of the external labs. He expressed satisfaction with the implementation of the project which, he said, will contribute to developing performance and efficiency of the General Department of Forensic Science and Criminology in particular and benefiting staff by helping them improve and develop their skills and expertise, in general.

Sheikh Mohammed considered this achievement as a civilised one for Dubai Police which has become among the world's top police apparatuses proving its competence and professionalism worldwide in combating crime, safeguarding community’s safety and providing stability and security to the nation, in addition to protecting human rights and guaranteeing their freedom and human dignity.
